Kim & ginny’s Catfight Bar
Based on several market surveys and a public opinion poll - but most importantly on the promise of vast amounts of ‘venture capital’ needed to defray the start-up costs from the denizens of their “adult” web site - Kim and ginny decided to expand their growing media empire by purchasing and extensively renovating a run-down old tavern in one of the seedier parts of downtown. The location was perfect for their needs; conveniently located in the same block as a couple of very competitive strip clubs, three massage parlors and an upscale Gentlemen’s Club.
The site was also midway between a toney Catholic Girl’s High School and the local State College. As if that weren’t attractive enough, within a one block radius were local chapters of the National Organization of Women (NOW) and the La Leche League; plus a very active chapter of the Young Republican Women one block down the street (on the right) and a Young Democratic Women’s Club a block and a half (to the left, naturally!). Two more blocks in the same direction was the national HQ of the ‘Divorced For Young Trophy Wives Association’!
As if that weren’t enough in the way of possibilities, several TV shows and movies frequently used the downtown streets in the neighborhood for ‘location’ shoots including the hit series “Desperate Housewives”. Hollywood made the ‘block’ a regular scene in movies, which provided a steady stream of actors, actresses, crew and executives who’d frequent the bar whenever they were in the area. The location had nearly unlimited potential for patrons in the employees of the other establishments on the ‘block’ as well as the offices and organizations within a short lunch-time or after-work-for-happy-hour stroll, plus there were potential ‘entertainers’ in the employees of the other establishments, the clubs, schools and offices scattered throughout downtown!
Now, all that remained was to get the papers signed, the place redecorated to Kim’s specs - and then sit back and rake in the money!! At least, that was the plan…..
