The Sportswoman of the Year 2000 banquet was being held in Los Angeles and elite female athletes from around all around the world had been invited to attend to celebrate what had been a very exciting year in female sports competition.

As so often happens whenever a number of physically dominating women with their requisite large egos become confined in a restricted place, their competitive natures almost inevitably come to the fore.

And so it happened this year. Among the attendees at the banquet several fights broke out during and immediately after the ceremony. What follows are the stories of some of the fights based on eye-witness testimony, heresay and a large amount of informed speculation.

PART ONE:
Anna Kournikova (Tennis) vs. Katarina Witt (Skating)
Stacy Dragila (Pole Vault) vs. Mia Hamm (Soccer>

PART TWO:
Jennifer Capriati (tennis) vs. Serena Williams (tennis)
Marion Jones (track) vs. Venus Williams (tennis)

PART THREE:
a Part 1 winner vs. a Part 2 winner
other Part 1 winner vs. other Part 2 winner

PART FOUR:
the 2 winners from Part 3 meet for the "title"
plus (maybe) a Tennis Tag Team Match: Williams Sisters vs. Capriati/Kournikova?
