THE WATCHER FILES PART THREE by Interac
The lights illuminate around the round table where the ten cloaked people sit once again for this third meeting of “The Watchers.” Each had a lap top computer in front of them as Number One hits a button and picture of Nelly Furtado and Shakira appear side-by-side.
“Nelly Furtado beat Shakira at the Muchmusic studio,” Number One said. “Number two that was your fight was it not? Were you pleased with what happened?”
Number Two nodded, “I was surprised. I thought Shakira would’ve been too much for Furtado but Nelly proved tough and defeated her. It was a good fight, I think Nelly’s only going to get better. Exactly who was it though, who set it up for S Club 7 to be on?”
Number One, “That was just a coincidence. Nelly's reaction to Rachel was something else wasn't it? And speaking of Rachel Stevens; Number Seven, your the plan worked quite nicely. Congratulations.”
“Yes,” Number Seven grinned. “With Jennifer's hatred of Rachel, I knew she’d want to send someone after her. I told her about Lacey and, somehow, she talked Chabert - who may I say, if the fight stayed on the physical, proved she’s a match for anyone. She might have beaten Rachel, we won't know though.”
Number One nodded affirmatively, “Oh yes, Lacey will definitely be used again. Number Ten, did you expect Anna would be that tough?”
Number Ten chuckled, “Tough isn’t the word I’d use to describe Anna. Crazy is a better word! She wanted to win so bad, she did whatever it took. Now we all know Soleil is tough, but my God, Anna was just too much for her!”
Number One agreed, “Yes, she certainly was. Now, on a side note, just in case any of you were wondering. It was I who set Jessica Biel to be at the bar the other night. Sarah Michelle Gellar needed to be taught a lesson about who she should and should not fight. Sarah stands no chance against a woman like Jessica and I think she realizes she needs to fight only the people we set up for her, the women who get beaten so easily and readily by the Jessica Biels’, Eliza Dushku’s and Shannen Elizabeth’s of the world.”
All the Watchers applaud in agreement.
“Now,” Number One continued, “back to business on hand. We all knew Jennifer and Rachel would fight and it was perhaps the most even, back and forth fight we’ve witnessed in some time. It very easily could’ve gone the other way and Rachel would be the winner. But alas, Jennifer Love Hewitt - who we all agree is *never* a sure thing, pulled out the win. Number Four, about your fight - a true show of two women having a strategy and sticking to it. That was amazing in my opinion.”
Number Four puffed out his chest proudly, “Yes, Natalie knew Reese was stronger but she worked on that leg. If the fight had gone another minute I don't think Reese could’ve lasted. Reese knew it too, and she ended the fight in a great move.”
Number One nodded, “Seeing Reese in action gave me an idea for a separate section for our fighters, an ultimate group who could have very good fights with others. They’ll always pull out a win on toughness, strength and/or brains. We can, of course, still set them up to fight the others but I think our focus should be on their fights with each other. These….”
Number Nine interrupting, “Who’d be in such this ‘ultimate’ group of yours Number One?”
“Obviously, if this was the first meeting, I’d have to nominate Alyssa Milano first, but since she was defeated by Kelly Monaco I guess Kelly would be first, followed by Alyssa second.”
Number Four added, “Reese would have to go in that group too. Who else fits the criteria by being able to fight any woman no matter how big, I mean Reese is just 5’2”.”
Number Three suggested, “Well, Salma Hayek and Carmen Electra come to mind. They can handle bigger girls pretty well.”
Number One made a note, then said, “We’ll stop it there; five is enough for now. We’ll add some more names at our next meeting. Speaking of Alyssa Milano, Number Eight, what’ve you heard about her?”
Number Eight checked his computer, reading, “Alyssa as you know, has been more than a bit pissed at losing to Monaco. She’s been telling her cast and crew that next Playmate she sees she’s going to make an example of. I say we give her a Playmate and find out. I think Maria Checa would be a good test for her.”
Number One entered Checa’s name in his lap-top, “Very good first fight and a tough one for Alyssa to bounce back after a loss. We’ll find out if I think too much of Alyssa or not. Any other suggestions? Oh, one more rule you all may not be aware of. If a woman has two fights in a row, she has to sit out one meeting before we bring her up again. Now, any other suggestions?”
Number Three spoke up, “Yes I have a good one. Since we were all quite impressed with Nelly Furtado’s last fight, and by her reaction to Rachel Stevens, let's give her someone Rachel fought - another songbird, Jessica Simpson! From what I hear, Jessica feels she can take a lot of women around her she did beat the hell out of Hewitt in the short time they were in the ring in the Maxim Challenge.”
“Very good fight, indeed,” Number One said. “It should be fun to see what happens. I’ve a suggestion of my own. Since I set up Sarah Michelle Gellar’s beat at the hands of Jessica Biel, we should give her a chance at redemption. I’d like to see Sarah Michelle against.... Jessica's costar from ‘Seventh Heaven’ beautiful Beverly Mitchell. You all agree?”
Number Ten chuckled, “I bet Sarah goes after her with a rage we haven’t seen from her before.”
Number One nodded, adding, “Maybe! But you never know what will happen ‘til it happens. That’s the great thing about these games, the women are very well matched, any one of them could beat any other at any time. We need two more fights before the card is final. Number Nine, you have a suggestion?”
“Yes. In our first meeting we got a great fight from that newcomer Kristen Kreuk. Also, Shiri Appleby proved very tough. I say we let them fight it out. Shiri feels she needs a win and Kristen needs to further learn the Hollywood way.”
Number Six agreed, “That’s quite the fight, alright, a very good one, in fact. For the last fight, how about two well endowed girls from TV. Not only are they blessed for their size, but one if not both could make your ultimate category; Marla Sokoloff and Melissa Joan Hart.”
Number One hit the ‘enter’ key on his lap-top and leaned back in his chair. “All these fights are very...well, very impressive! In that last one the winner will almost certainly be in the Ultimate category.”
He clicks his mouse and the monitors on the walls surrounding the room fill with the list of the next fights.
