A Stack of Submission Rules

Righty-ho people. Since the site is growing large and relatively unwieldy, I’ve decided to set up some rules for submitting works. Please note that these are non-negotiable - I do not have the time to wade through a huge amount of requests to accept x, y or z in such and such a format because you can’t be bothered to change it. That said, if there really is a problem then I am willing to take it into consideration so long as the details and a full explanation is emailed to me before you submit the picture or story.

Should you feel that my refusing your work was an unfair action, you may address a civil email to me, following the complaints procedure laid down in the appropriate sections, explaining your why you think I was unfair. This does not guarantee that I will post the fic/art, but it will produce a full explanation of why the fic was refused.

Now on to the rules.

General Info

1.

I reserve the right to refuse to accept a piece of work with or without giving reasons. Generally I will give feedback - not necessarily a great amount, but feedback nevertheless - but during times when I am busy this will be difficult and may be omitted.

PLEASE NOTE: acceptance of one fic does not automatically guarantee acceptance of any others.

2. Any complaints must be concise and polite - those including coarse language or unnecessary insults will be ignored, and those that are too aggressive will also be ignored.

3. You may resubmit a fic that has been refused if appropriate improvements have been made, but if it is refused a second time then it would generally be safe to assume that I have no intention of accepting it.

4. Please note that if I send back a fic with feedback and ask you to make changes but do not indicate that I am refusing it then this means that I like it and would like to host it. This will generally occur with fics that require spell-checking and grammar checking.

5.

Note that I may consider beta-ing a fic if it is specifically requested of me, but please remember that my time is limited and that I would much prefer it if you submitted a fic already edited. If I do not have the time to beta then I'm afraid that any request for me to do so will be met with a refusal.

Please note; all beta-ing undertaken by me will, of necessity, be of a limited nature and reviews will be of limited length. If you wish to have a full, in-depth criticism of your work I suggest you try elsewhere.

Other betaing resources can be found at Writers University and I suggest you try them first; if you are a member of a DBZ mailing list you might put out a request to them, provided this does not contravene the rules of the list.

6. Persons with dyslexia and whose first language is not English will receive priority for beta-ing, so long as they indicate this in their initial email. Once again, I cannot guarantee that I will be available to beta.

7. Length is not an issue, so long as quality is maintained.

8.

Generally speaking I do not like crossovers, self-inserts or Mary Sues. However, should the fanfic be of good quality I will take it into consideration - should the fic be of one of the three categories it does not mean an automatic refusal. Please note that I do not consider original characters to be Mary Sues so long as they are not the main focus of the story.

9.

Should you have a problem with any of the requirements listed below, please email me before you submit your fic, stating which rule and why it is a problem. I will do all I can to help you with any problems you might have, but trivial requests for help will be ignored as will any complaint that the rule is too limiting. I'm running a large site here and the rules are there to make it easier for me to do so.

1. Please submit all fics as either .html or .txt files, or embedded in your email. I will not accept .doc files or any other format since I have already had someone send me a virus via that method. For more information on file type, please see Submission Procedure.

2.

Please run your fic through a spell-check and read it through at least once before submitting. I will consider requests to beta fics for grammar and spelling, but generally only from those people whose first language is not English, or people with dyslexia.

Note that there is no guarantee that I will accept a request to beta - it is advised that you obtain a beta for yourself if you wish to have your work looked over. Possible beta's can be found at: Writers University or you could try asking friends or sending out a request on a Mailing List.

3. Do not write a fic in Caps-lock, do not send me one with strange text effects (e.g. OnCe UpoN A Time). They will not even be read, let alone accepted.

4. Always include paragraphs and proper puncuation. If you are unsure as to how something should be punctuated, please first get someone else's advice before sending it to me to beta. If worst comes to worst then I will accept an unpunctuated fic, so long as it has paragraphs. Fics without paragraphing will not be read and thus will not be accepted.

1. Your fic must be a DBZ fic! I do not accept those from other fandoms - this is a DBZ site.

2. Fics may be yaoi, yuri, shounen ai, shoujo ai, het, or gen. They need not include sexual activity - in fact they can be as tame as you like - but must include at least one character from DBZ.

3.

Once again I reiterate; I do not generally like Mary Sues, Crossovers or Self-inserts. In particular I do not like crossovers which include too many fandoms, obscure fandoms or obscure characters. However, if the fic is well-written it may be accepted.

Note; I do not consider original characters to be Mary Sues so long as they are not the main focus of the fic.

4.

I accept PWP, TWT, AU, OOC, IC, NC (however, this must be part of the plot - I will not accept PWP NC stories, nor stories where the NC activity is gratuitous), squick, humorous, angsty, serious, dramatic, melancholy, sad, death, oneshots, series epics etc. See the Glossary for codes.

5. I accept hentai, but only in small doses and prefer that it remains in context (except in PWP fics!). Shota may also be problematic, but any story containing it will receive consideration.

Once again I reiterate: please submit all fics as either .html or .txt files, or embedded in your email - .html files or .txt files with html coding included are preferred. I will not accept .doc files or any other format.

Note; For .txt files, in order to indicate any italics please border the section or word to be italicised with a slash ( / ). For instance: "Hey! /Hey you/!" will result in the following: "Hey! Hey you!"

Note; For .txt files, in order to indicate any words you wish to be bold please border the section or word with a hash (#). For instance: "Hey! #Hey you#!" will result in: "Hey! Hey you!"

Note; For .txt files, in order to indicate any underlining please border the section or word to be italicised with an underscore ( _ ). For instance: "Hey! _Hey you_!" will result in the following: "Hey! Hey you!"

2. Please head your email in the following manner: Fic Submission [insert title here].

3. Please include in your initial email a tentative summary of the fic, the type of fic - epic, multiparter, oneshot, PWP etc (see the Glossary for codes) - your email address, your pen-name and whether you wish your email address to be posted on the site. This is important! If you do not state from the start that you do not want your email address to be hosted then I will presume that you have no objections to my doing so.

4. Please also include in your initial email any pairings between characters (see the Glossary for codes), the rating you would ascribe to the fic (this is optional), any warnings, any personal disclaimers (optional) and personal dedications(optional) or thanks (optional) that you wish to have posted, and the title of the fic. If it is untitled please state this explicitly.

5.

(3) and (4) should be laid out in the following manner:

Title: Mine
Author: Littlesaru
Email: littlesaru@yahoo.co.uk
Post email? Yes (or No - depending upon your answer)
Type: oneshot
Pairings: Goku/Vegeta (or (Gk)xV - see the Glossary for codes)
Warning: Lemon | Yaoi
Rating: (optional)
Disclaimer: I do not own DBZ.... (optional)
Dedication: Dedicated to oglidso (optional)
Thanks: To dghltbs for.... (optional)

6. Send all fics to the following email address: Littlesaru's Mailbox .
Complaints Procedure

1. The email must be written in a civilised manner; no threats, aggression or swearing, please.

2. Please head your email: Fic Sub Complaint [insert title here]

3. Please include in your email the title of the fic, a full summary - including where you see the plot progressing to should it be a multi-parter, your email address, your pen-name, the rating of the fic, and any warnings you might have appended to it.

4. Please state the reasons I gave for refusing. If I gave no reasons then please do not behave in a whiny or aggressive manner - as I have said before, I have a very full and busy RL life, which may prevent me from giving a full list of reasons.

5. State why you think that my refusal was unfair, giving a full list of reasons.

6. Be polite! Insulting or offensive emails will be deleted and no reply will be forthcoming.

7. Please remember that I have limited time and will not always be able to give a full reply to complaints received. In the event of this happening the reply will simply state that the fic has been rejected.

8. A reply to your complaint will possibly include the reasons for the rejection of the fic, should there not have been any before, but it will not guarantee that the fic will be posted.

1. Please submit all pics as either .jpg, .jpeg or .gif files. I will not accept any other format since I have already had someone send me a virus. For more information on file type, please see Submission Procedure.

2.

Please “clean” your pic before submitting it, i.e. remove any unneeded pencil lines/smudges. If you do not have the capability of doing this by computer, I am told that something the Americans call ‘whiteout’ (I have a sneaking suspicion that we of the UK call it Tipex) is very useful.

3. Do not send me huge files! My mailbox has limited memory capacity, so please send me files of 500K or below - under 250K is preferred but I'm aware that some people do not have the ability to resize. Pictures should be as high quality as you can get.

1. Your pic must be a DBZ pic! I do not accept those from other fandoms - this is a DBZ site.

2. Pics may be yaoi, yuri, shounen ai, shoujo ai, het, or gen. They should be tasteful. I’m not in the business of shipping porno, and I do not intend to start now.

3.

In relation to pics, I will accept original characters, provided that they are recognizably related to DBZ. For instance, sending me a pic of a Saiyajin would be perfectly acceptable, sending me a pic of a Pokemon you have made up would not be.

Note; I would prefer the pics to include at least one member of the original DBZ cast, unless it is an illustration to a fic.

4. I accept all ranges of pics, so long as they are tasteful. While I will host hentai, I do have limits. You will be informed if you have overstepped the bounds.

5.

I will not accept scribbles - quality must be maintained and something you have taken no time over and given no effort to will not be accepted.

Please Note: Sketches are not defined as scribbles - they have both content and at least some degree of care included in their creation.

1. Once again I reiterate: please submit all pics as either .jpg, .jpeg or .txt files, I will not accept .doc files or any other format.

2. There is a file size limit! Please submit all pics at under 500K - preferably they should be under 250K but I'm aware that some people don't have the ability to resize accurately. Note that they will be resized to be under 70K when they arrive ‘on my desk’ so to speak. This is not me being mule-headed - anzwers has a file size limit of 70K and there is nothing I can do about this.

3. Please head your email in the following manner: Pic Submission [insert title here].

3. Please include in your initial email a description of the pic, the type of pic - yaoi, yuri, lime, lemon, gen etc (see the Glossary for codes) - your email address, your pen-name and whether you wish your email address to be posted on the site. This is important! If you do not state from the start that you do not want your email address to be hosted then I will presume that you have no objections to my doing so.
